Penn Spinfisher SSM reels incorporate infinite anti-reverse roller bearings for immediate hook setting capabilities, five stainless steel ball bearings, and an incredibly balanced feel.

In addition to the improved balance, sealed ball bearings, and infinite anti-reverse, you may notice the ergonomic, oversized, soft-grip power knob on the 850SSm and 950SSm models. This power-knob provides the angler with an increased handle surface, perfect for cranking power, yet is soft to the touch and comfortable. This handle is not an ideal “casting” handle, so when aggressively casting with the oversized power handle, position the knob towards the bottom (spool is the “Top”) of the reel and you should all but eliminate any premature bail trip.
